▪ Gelcell, a Division of Global Encapsulation Inc. has added its second super high-capacity 12" encapsulation machine from Technophar Equipment and Service (www.technophar.com). The addition of the second machine was warranted after the tremdous success of the first such machine just two years ago. Citing reduced overhead, yields over 98% on this machine, and increased demand for low-priced product, Michael Ratko - President indicated that the decision to make the investment was easy.

▪ Gelcell signs development and licensing agreement with FMC Biopolymer for non-animal gelatin based on FMC's SeaGel® - a ultra-pure, specialized carrageenan extracted from red seaweed. Process development will begin shortly on FMC's patented gel formula consisting of SeaGel®, cornstarch, glyerin and water. At last, a commercially-viable alternative to animal-derived gelatin will available through all distribution chains. Gelcell's license is for nutritional products in Canada, the United States, and Mexico. The product will be marketed under the name C-Caps™.
